You Can Buy the Rosebud Motel From ‘Schitt’s Creek’

It may not be a whole town, but the iconic Rosebud Motel from your favorite feel-good comedy Schitt’s Creek is currently up for sale.
Called the Hockley Motel in real life, the $2 million property is located about 55 miles north of Toronto, in a town called Hockley Valley, Ontario. It’s no Schitt’s Creek, but it’s home.
The listing for the property says it includes 10 units, a two-story manager’s suite, and a one-bedroom cottage spread over 6.7 acres. The land also includes access to the Nottawasaga River, which is great for fishing. The video on the listing site is actually really beautiful, showing off the land and property.
The motel itself isn’t operational right now, but the current owner, Jesse Tipping, says it’s great for film and tv shoots, and they hope the new owner can turn it into something nice, perhaps a Schitt’s Creek-themed boutique motel.
“I’m emotionally invested in this show,” Tipping told CTV News back in September, “I’ve loved watching it since episode one since I got to meet them and even just hear the name of what it was going to be called, it was fantastic.”
He added that “the property itself is so beautiful. It’s very pretty and it’s an incredible spot and the motel itself has had a great history in the community and I hope that somebody who buys it honours that history is able to keep it going.”
Whoever scoops up this property will have a lot of options, and they can be sure that Schitt’s Creek fans will be flocking to the area for years to come.
Offers on the property are due no later than 3 p.m. Eastern on Monday, December 14, so get out there and become your own Johnny Rose today!
