The L Word’s Jennifer Beals, Leisha Hailey, Kate Moennig Belt This ’80s Hit Karaoke

It’s hard to believe, but The L Word: Generation Q is already about halfway through its second season. While there’s no context for the scene yet, the series has now gifted viewers with original L Word characters Bette (Jennifer Beals), Shane (Kate Moennig), and Alice (Leisha Hailey) performing a karaoke version of the B-52’s ’80s hit “Love Shack.”

Hailey, who was in the bands The Murmurs and Uh Huh Her, kicks off the sure-to-be iconic number by dragging her besties to the stage and appointing Shane to do the Fred Schneider (of the B-52s) talk/sing vocals and Bette to channel Kate Pierson while she takes on the Cindy Wilson part.

The second season of Gen Q has been a tad sparse on scenes with the three originals together, so their taking on the classic tune and the dynamics among them makes it especially fun.

In an Instagram post with the video, Beals wrote, “Karaoke will never be the same
Knock a little louder sugah.”

The full episode that includes the karaoke scene is out on Showtime on September 10. Watch “Love Shack” below.
