This week’s question was: Who was the Black queer singer known as the Empress of Blues?
This week’s answer is: Bessie Smith. Called the Empress of Blues, the queer singer was known to captivate audiences even though many thought she was a bit too rough for a woman performer. Smith was born in 1894 in Tennessee and died after a car wreck in 1937.
🎉 Congrats to Warren, Raven, and Richard for getting it right!
