Rachel Maddow Roasted for Tweeting ‘God Bless the President’
There were many reactions to President Trump’s Thursday night revelation that he and his wife caught COVID-19, a deadly disease that has killed 1 million people and one that he previously referred to as a hoax and no worse than the flu.
While some people couldn’t contain their glee on social media, many others just reported the news and timeline of Trump’s diagnosis. The president apparently knew he was exposed to the novel coronavirus when he traveled to New Jersey on Thursday for a fundraiser at his golf course. Hours after the event, where he appeared without a mask, he announced his positive diagnosis.
Others, like MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, had a sympathetic reaction to the bombshell, asking her followers to pray for the man who just mocked Democratic nominee Joe Biden for wearing protective facial coverings.
Some people certainly appreciated Maddow’s take, but not all.
Others reminded Maddow that Trump was caught on tape telling journalist Bob Woodward in February how deadly COVID was, an admission counter to the public declarations he was making at the time and continued to make.
