Pete Buttigieg Makes Trump-Supporting Heckler Disavow White Supremacy

Pete Buttigieg is on a roll.
After a string of viral takedowns on Fox News, the gay politician has once again made headlines for his response to a heckling Donald Trump supporter.
During a Wednesday rally in St. Petersburg, Fla., a man wearing a red MAGA hat with his mask pulled down crashed a socially distanced event for Joe Biden’s campaign headlined by Buttigieg.
After security stopped the man, Buttigieg, rising above continued interruptions from the protester, framed the scene as a teachable moment.
“Wouldn’t it be nice to have a president who cares just as much about protecting the lives of those that protest us as those who stand at our side?” he asked, reports Pink News. “Wouldn’t it be nice to have a president who does not believe in violence against those who disagree with him? And don’t you feel a little sorry for a president who finds it necessary to draw this kind of support?”

When the protester tried to interrupt once again, Buttigieg addressed him directly. “Dude, can I finish my remarks? Are you afraid to hear what I have to say?”
“Do you denounce white supremacy?” he asked the heckler, who nodded his head while livestreaming. “Good, then we agreed on something! That’s a beginning point. See if you can get your president to do the same thing!”
Throughout his presidency,  Trump has provided numerous dog whistles to white supremacist groups. When asked to denounce them at the first presidential debate, the Republican deflected, directing the Proud Boys to “stand back and stand by.”
