Eric Trump Threatened to Sue Rachel Maddow For Highlighting His Appearance with Anti-Semites

Eric Trump threatened MSNBC host Rachel Maddow with legal action because she highlighted his appearance at an event this weekend at his father’s Trump National Doral resort in Miami alongside noted anti-Semites.

With his wife, Lara, who contributed to Fox News until her father-in-law ran for president in 2024, the second son of the former president will speak at the right-wing event. In addition, far-right influencers Scott McKay and Charlie Ward, who have praised Hitler and promoted anti-Semitic conspiracy theories, are also scheduled to appear at the event.

“I can’t really believe they are going ahead with it,” Maddow said Monday night.

In recent weeks, the leading lesbian broadcaster on television has reported on the increase in the number of neo-Nazis at drag events nationwide.

According to her, associating with individuals from those circles in 2023 is obviously far from a good look.

“ReAwaken America” is a far-right tour that will stop at the Doral on May 12th and 13th as part of its tour across the country. Michael Flynn, the pardoned former Trump national security advisor fired within weeks of taking the position, co-founded this tour.

In addition to mocking the former Trump officials’ inability to land a better job after recently serving in high-profile roles, Maddow also criticized their participation.

“You’d think you’d kinda be a hot ticket, right?” she asked rhetorically. “You’d think you’d have options; you’d be moving in impressive circles. You would think.”

On Tuesday night, Trump tweeted that Maddow was “walking a fine line,” adding that his family was “the most pro-Israel family in American political history.” Trump mentioned that his sister’s husband, Jared Kutcher, is an Orthodox Jew, and his sister Ivanka and their children are Jewish.

“If [Maddow] or anyone else even remotely suggests I am anti-Semitic I will not hesitate to take legal action against them personally,” Trump wrote.

Many former Trump administration officials are scheduled to attend as well. Those include Peter Navarro, Michael Flynn, Matthew Whitaker, Kash Patel, and Devin Nunes, the former congressman who is now president of Donald Trump’s Truth Social media company.

The Advocate reached out to MSNBC for comment on Trump’s tweet.

After Maddow’s report, McCay and Ward were dropped from the weekend’s event, but not the overall tour, MSNBC reports.
