Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation – Active July 1, 2014

Here’s a good general overview of Canada’s new Anti-Spam legislation that’s coming into force on July 1st, 2014. Some good information for B2B Marketers.

Generally, sending email can be risky for a business. It will take a while for the law to be more “established” and businesses to get familiar with it.

Also, beware that the penalties for CASL Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation non-compliance are severe including criminal charges, civil charges, personal liability for company officers and directors, and penalties up to $10 million.

If you’re a marketer, this will definitely be worth a read.
