‘Somebody Somewhere’ Is Getting a Third Season

The heart of the Somebody Somewhere is the friendship between Sam and Joel, which has blossomed across the show’s two seasons. For fans of the pair, more episodes are on the way. The latest season’s finale was released on May 28, and it took only three days for HBO to announce the renewal.

“We’re thrilled to announce the third season of the honest and impactful Somebody Somewhere,” said Amy Gravitt, EVP of HBO and Max Comedy Programming, in a statement shared with Deadline.

“Nothing makes us smile quite like this show, which never fails to remind us that life is made up of the small moments, that family can be chosen, and that dreams don’t have deadlines,” she continued.

Speaking with The Advocate ahead of the season two premiere, Everett — who is also an executive producer for the series — said, “It wasn’t the goal of the show to check boxes. Our only aim was to develop fully realized characters and portray people as they are. These characters lead with their hearts. It’s just about people getting together, laughing and farting and having a good time with each other.”
